NARA TEST REPORT 01-21-00
Scientists concluded from the test that the fibers were of
non-textile origin and did not come from the clothing of John
F. Kennedy, nor of John B. Connally. The Department of Justice
also had speculated that the organic fragments might shed light
on the assassination, but DNA analysis of them proved inconclusive.
FBI Reply to House Select Committee on Assassinations
(HSCA) Memo from Blakey that asked: "How may one account
for any alteration in number and mass of the originally-obtained
ballistic evidence during the time it was in possession of
the FBI and until it was turned over to NARS [National Archives]
by the FBI?
